Best Tips For Looking After Your Sensitive Skin

Just as all the other variations of individual skin types, sensitive skin has its specialized needs and ways for properly taking care of it. If you happen to be among the most sensitive of skin types, everything that touches your skin must be scrutinized for making sure that there are no irritations or allergies to be had from the product contact.

Sensitive skin may not directly be a disease, but if there are certain reoccurring signs or symptoms, there may be an underlying skin condition that is more than likely, possible to be relieved. Some of the most common skin issues are well known to be such skin problems as acne, eczema, allergies, psoriasis, and or rosacea, just to name a few. If there is one or more of any signs directly related to listing certain symptoms, this could very well be the signs of a treatable skin disease. More often than not, this can be done with the help of over-the-counter medications or a dermatologist.

With very sensitive skin, it can be almost anything that may cause rashes, itchiness, severe patchy redness, hive breakouts, skin tightening or tingling, more than common dryness spells, and even severity of blushing more often than not. Individuals with very sensitive skin will find that skin becomes temporary blotchy in the blink of an eye, but especially during emotionally stressful events. For the very skin sensitive, there will almost always be a very quickly bad response to any type of short to excess sun exposure.

For the best preventive measures of keeping sensitive skin the least irritated, always use the highest numbers of sun block protection. Also wear hats to cover the most sensitive facial areas and avoid sleeveless tops or shirts that will expose the very sensitive shoulders. Get to know yourself very well, as in what will cause what types of sensitive skin reactions to actually happen.

Use as little cosmetics and other extra skin products as you possibly can get away with, and for all skin products that you must have, always use only all natural hypo-allergenic products. In some of the safest and all natural type of products that can be used for most everyone's sensitive skin issues, there is the rejuvenation and healing properties of the Aloe Vera plant, or purely natural store bought gel.

The 4-Step Guide to Basic Skin Care

Introduction

To properly care for your skin you need to follow the daily 4-step skin care routine, from the right way to wash your face to the best moisturizers and UV protection. It is also very important to know your skin type as this will dictate how you care for your skin.

Step 1: Cleanse

Cleanse with a good cleanser that your skin reacts well with and find the correct oil mix for your skin type to stop clogging or drying of the skin. Generally cleanse only at night and splash with lukewarm water in the morning to remove excess oils from your nightly moisturizing. Avoid washing your face with hot or cold water which can cause broken capillaries. Don't over-cleanse the skin.

The best way to wash your face is with warm water to loosen the dirt and clogged pores. Then use a small amount of the cleanser before rinsing with lukewarm water. Make sure you take off your makeup with a proper makeup remover.

Step 2: Exfoliate

Most women skip this step in their weekly skin care routine while men exfoliate daily when they shave. This may be one of the reasons a man's skin looks more youthful than a woman's. Here are several ways to exfoliate the skin:

Microdermabrasion

Scrubbing removes the top layer of dead skin cells which dulls your complexion. Exfoliating the skin once a week with a microdermabrasion kit keeps skin glowing all year-round. Use a gentle scrub with tiny grains to avoid tearing of the skin.

Chemical Peels

Chemical peels can take years off your face making the hour wait well worth it. You can use a monthly peel or over-the-counter peels that work over the course of a month.

Retinoids

Retinoids also work by removing the top layer of dead skin cells. However, they also generate collagen in the skin which increases the skins structure and fiber. Aging creates lines and large pores, retinoids reduce them. Most skin care experts regard retinoids as a miracle skin saver.

Step 3: Moisturize

A basic principle of beauty is that everyone, no matter what the skin type, should moisturize - the only exceptions are those with acne. Moisturizers seal moisture into the skin so your skin will tell you when it is needed. When it's tight it's crying out for moisture. Be careful not to over-moisturize, this can clog pores.

Step 4: Apply Sunscreen

Sunscreen is the most important step in your skincare regimen when you consider that sun damage is the number 1 cause of wrinkles and skin cancer. Use sunscreen even in winter and on cloudy days. You can use two moisturizers: one for the night and one for the day (with UV protection). Don't use moisturizers with sunscreen at night. Make sure the sunscreen contains one of the following active ingredients - titanium dioxide, zinc oxide or Parsol 1789 (avobenzene).

Additional Tips

Should you use a toner?

Toners remove all remaining traces of oil, makeup and dirt. However, a good cleanser can do this which explains why many beauty experts are against the use of toners. In the end, it really comes down to personal choice and how your skin feels after using a toner.

Are eye creams necessary?

Beauty experts are strongly divided over eye creams. Some believe that the very thin skin around the eye is susceptible to wrinkles and therefore needs creams to 'thicken' and strengthen this area. Others regard the daily skin care regimen around the eyes as sufficient.

Conclusion

These days people seem to have no choice but to confront any issues involving their health. When these issues involve the health of their largest and most exposed organ, their skin, it is no wonder that they tend to be at the mercy of countless "expert" opinions and the accompanying products. What I have tried to show here is that, like most things in life, it doesn't have to be complicated, especially when it comes to basic skin care. By keeping to the simple regime above, and consulting qualified practitioners when in doubt, there is no reason why you can't have healthy and glowing skin all your life.

Understanding Your Skin And What It Will Do For You

The Skin Is Composed Of Many Layers That "Shed" Constantly:

As new skin tissue grows from within, the outer layers (or "scarf" skin) constantly shed like bark from a tree. Thus, discolored and worn tissue is discarded, and young fresh skin replaces it.

The Skin's Texture Varies:

It is tough in spots, as on the heels of our feet, so that we can walk on them without injury. In other areas, it is tender and delicate, as on the fingertips, so that our sense of touch will be accurate.

The Skin Often Warns Us Of Danger:

It is able to sense heat or cold before we contact it. So sensitive is the skin, that it even replaces the eyes of a blind person who reads books through the sense of touch in their fingertips. Many people can sense the presence of other people in a room through the delicate nerves in the skin.

The Skin Has The Ability To Become Thicker OR Thinner:

Depending on how we treat the skin, it can become thicker or thinner in a matter of days. When we work with our hands excessively, as in rowing a boat, within a short period of time the skin on our palms will become thick and calloused. When we stop that activity and properly care for our hands, the skin resumes its thin and delicate feel. Herein lies an essential beauty lesson, which will be applied often as we study the skin and its care. We can help our skin BEAUTIFY ITSELF, if we observe nature's laws of cause and effect, and work with these laws.

Another Task For The Skin Is The Elimination Of Waste Matter From The Body:

The millions of tiny glands or pores in the skin, discharge many kinds of impurities from the body. In fact, the pores must discharge almost as much waste matter from the body every day as do the kidneys. Especially important to this function is the area under the arms, where pores are very large and secretions flow freely, in the form of perspiration. However, when an anti-perspirant is used to close these pores, nature seeks other outlets. Waste is rerouted to other pores, including those on the face, some times leading to complaints of "oily skin," which is really an oily condition that can be corrected.

The Skin Is A Kind Of Natural Thermostat:

The skin helps to control body temperature. When temperature in the environment drops, the pores close tightly to conserve body heat. As the temperature rises, the pores open and secrete moisture to the skin's surface. This moisture evaporates and creates "cold," which brings body temperature back to normal. When the body is covered with clothing, the largest area of exposed skin is the face and the process of evaporation and temperature control is concentrated in this area, thereby keeping the facial glands more active, and secreting liquids to be evaporated.

Some people interpret this natural temperature control process as oily skin at one time and dry skin at another. Actually, it is just nature assisting our bodies to adjust to variations in temperature. If we wore less clothing, the pores of the facial skin would not have to make such adjustments. This is more evident of course in the Summer time or locations which have warmer climates.

These Are A Few Of Your Skin's Many Natural Responsibilities:

By understanding these responsibilities, we can understand why many so-called "skin problems" are in fact, the skin fulfilling its natural tasks. This marvelous organ responds quickly to kindness and care. Remember, when you do not abuse your toes, you do not have corns; when you care for your complexion, it will do everything naturally possible to be soft, clear and youthful in appearance. To this end, correct beauty care is essential.

Skincare For all Ages

Skin is the largest organ of the human body. It helps protect, regulate heat, absorb and acts as a barrier so nutrients aren't washed out of our bodies. These functions of the skin are disturbed when it's excessively dirty. This is why proper skincare is vital in keeping our bodies healthy.

The most important part of skincare starts on the inside of our bodies. It's true!

You hear and read about it everyday. Drink plenty of water, exercise regularly, sleep and eat a healthy diet. Limiting stress is also another vital aspect of having healthy skin.

When we're in our 20's and 30's, our skin is firm. As we start to age, our skin loses elasticity and we start to develop fine lines, discoloration and age spots. Starting young, and developing a proper skincare regimen will help minimize the effects of aging. And we all know, that looking younger is on everybody's mind.

Now that we know what it takes on the inside, lets talk about some of the factors that influence our skin on the outside of our body. Pollution, ultraviolet radiation and temperature fluctuation are major components that cause damage to our skin. The parts of our body that are exposed the most are, our face, neck, hands and feet. These are the parts that we introduce to people everyday, so why wouldn't we want these looking healthy?

So, here are a few tips for making the most of your skincare routine.

1. SUNSCREEN: Protect yourself from the sun. Many foundations now have SPF in them.

2. DON'T SMOKE: Nicotine constricts blood flow so oxygen and nutrients can't get to your skin cells.

3. Cleanse and Moisturize: Make sure you use products for your skin type.

4. Drink plenty of water: Helps carry away the impurities from our skin.

We all want to take care of our bodies, so take care of the largest part of our body. Growing old doesn't mean we have to look the part. There are millions of skincare products out there to choose from. Make sure you know your skin type, and whether your skin is sensitive to products. There are also many natural products that you can use as well.

Just find what's right for you, and put your best face forward.

Natural Skin Care - The Benefits of Green Tea for Healthier Skin

Did you know you know that you could improve the health of your skin by drinking green tea? For centuries Asian cultures have known about the many health benefits of drinking green tea. Green tea from its earliest origins in China 4000 years ago, has been highly valued for its medicinal benefits.

There are four main types of tea: black, oolong, green and white. But of the four types, studies show that green tea is known to have by far the highest health benefits because of its powerful anti-oxidants. The major chemical component of the green tea leaf which provides all the health benefits is a group of phytochemicals known as polyphenols and constitute about 15-30% of the green tea leaf. These polyphenols have proven to be very efficient at working to fight free radicals and cleanse toxins from within the body. Polyphenols also work to improve the body's own anti-oxidant system. Drinking natural green herbal tea is not only good for the health of the body, it's also good for improving the health of the skin.

My favorite green tea of all is Chamomille tea, known for its calming and soothing effects. Chamomille tea also has many health benefits besides relaxation. Chamomille tea is also good for improving the digestive system, and with its anti-inflammatory properties, it's also good for healing itchy, dry skin. Another great herbal tea is Burdock Tea which contains many vitamins and minerals and is known for being a blood purifier, able to improve the body's immune system. Burdock Tea has also been known to work successfully in improving skin disorders such as acne, psoriasis, and eczema.

No matter which type of green tea you prefer to drink, the powerful and amazing health benefits of green tea are many and wide-ranging. We now know what Asians have known and understood for centuries and that is that drinking green tea will improve the overall health of your body but also the health and condition of your skin.

How to Remove Cellulite

Many women have come to embrace their lumps and bumps, but let's be honest. Most women want their cellulite gone - and FAST! Don't fear. Cellulite is not something that you have to just accept. You can diminish the appearance of cellulite if you take a holistic approach to the situation.

What is Cellulite?

The first step to removing cellulite is to understand what cellulite is. Cellulite, contrary to popular belief, is not "just fat." Fat tissue usually resides below your skin. However, as fat builds up, it eventually spills out into the superficial layer of skin. Cellulite is fat tissue that has been ensnared in the superficial layer of skin.

How to Remove Cellulite: Diet and Exercise

When it comes to the effects of diet and exercise on your cellulite, the jury is still out. Many people believe that because cellulite is not like "normal" fat, you cannot get rid of it with "normal" fat burning exercises. One thing is certain though. With diet and exercise, you can prevent the accumulation of more cellulite.

Cellulite Creams

Cellulite creams are also a hot topic for debate. Here is the scoop. Cellulite creams will NOT cure your cellulite. Nope... No way. But, cellulite creams can help to reduce the appearance of cellulite. They do this through several different methods including dehydrating your skin, dilating your blood vessels, moisturizing your skin, and decreasing inflammation. To repeat, cellulite creams will not get rid of your cellulite. They can make it look better though.

Medical Options

There are several different medical options out there for cellulite reduction. Going into the specifics is beyond the scope of this article, but I can give you're the names of a few procedure and you can google them to find out more for yourself. Common cellulite reduction treatments include: mesotherapy, lipodissolve, liposuction and acoustic wave therapy.

Be Healthier

Here's just another reason to start taking care of yourself. All those things that you have always been told to avoid (smoking, drinking, unhealthy eating...) are also bad for your cellulite. They are going to make it appear more abundant and worse. This may seem obvious, but a lot of people don't believe there is a connection.

Alex Sutton is a writer, reviewer, and personal trainer who has been helping her clients fight cellulite for nine years.

Why Use Skin Care Products?

Do you think you don't need skin care products? You might want to rethink that.

Our skin is exposed to a multitude of environmental pollutants, stress, and the time factor. We can't really combat these totally, so we must do what we can to prevent the aging process from becoming easily visible.

We can't control the environmental issues or Father Time. Stress can be controlled, but we all have to learn how to handle it in our own way. Of course we all have to age, but we want to slow the process down as much as possible.

We age differently with each decade of life:

20's Changes in the skin start to show, usually due to:

*lack of properly cleansing the face (which leads to clogged pores, which lead to blackheads and whiteheads)

*inadequate sleep

*too much alcohol and smoking

*not using moisturizers while exposed to the sun

30's Here comes the double chin, laugh lines, and crow's feet. Skin starts to lose elasticity and suppleness. Blotchy areas and brown spots can start to appear.

40's Dry and dull skin arrives. Age spots start to form on the face and back of the hands.

50's Skin becomes more prone to wrinkling. Menopause results in even drier skin.

60's Circulation usually becomes an issue, resulting in even thinner, drier skin. Tissue can become more sensitive to the elements.

None of this sounds like a decade I'm looking forward to arriving at. Plastic surgery is can be a quick fix, but who really wants to put their body through that kind of torture only to take a chance on what you might really look like afterwards? Living a sensible lifestyle is much safer and will benefit you more than just on the outside.

*Sleep. The skin repairs itself while the body is asleep.

*Exercise. Exercise increases circulation and makes the body sweat. Sweating helps to flush grime from the skin.

*Hydrate. Drink at least eight glasses of water a day. Caffeine drinks can help to dehydrate the body, resulting in more wrinkles.

*Alcohol. Notice those little red veins on people's faces?

*Diet. Love those fresh fruits and veggies!

We should all follow some sort of skin care program. The basics should start in teenage years:

*Cleanse

*Tone

*Moisturize

As we grow older, we should start to add facial masks, exfoliants, and deep hydrating moisturizers. If the skin has already suffered damage, it can start a reversal process with the right skin care products. These will not be found in your discount stores! In fact, most of the cheaper products have ingredients that will actually harm the skin. Watch out for these ingredients:

*Oil. Vegetable and Mineral oil is used. These will clog the pores, backing up natural oils and dead skin cells. This results in blackheads and whiteheads.

*Dyes. They can irritate the skin.

*Soap. Extremely drying to the skin. Only use a quality cleanser.

I don't want to look any older than I have to and I'm sure you would like to avoid that, also. I have used phenomenal skin care products for 33 years. I have my mother to thank for that. She always insisted that we take care of our bodies, since we only get one. When people ask my age, they are always surprised and think that I am at least a decade younger than I look. This can be the same for you. Just put a little effort into your daily skin care routine and positive things will happen!

Why Regular Skincare Is Essential?

Skin protects internal body parts and that is an important role of our skin. External particles and allergens encounter the first resistance at skin level; that is why skin is also known as a part of immune system. Hence, apart from looking good one should take care of her skin because it helps her stay healthy.

Skin is the largest organ in human body. It has got a lot of works to do. Skin regulates the temperature of our body. Skin not only prevents dehydration or loss of fluid, it also removes excess water and some excretory products through sweat glands.

Skin is consisted of two layers - the epidermis and the dermis. Epidermis is the outer layer and stays on top of dermis. It is epidermis which gets exposed to sunlight, dust and harmful elements. New cell generation takes place at epidermis level. Multiple nerve cell (neuron) ends impart sensitivity to the skin.

New cells are produced and pushed upward to take the place of old dead cells. Stratum corneum is the layer of dead skin cells. As new cells are generated, the dead cell layer starts to peel off. The cycle of fresh cell generation and dead cell removal takes approximately three weeks to complete one turn.

With age skin cell generation rate drops and the symptoms of aging become prominent. As a result skin becomes dry and droopy. Suitable facial products can help us delay aging process and avoid premature aging too.

Collagen fibers are the building blocks of skin. These tissues break with age and as a result skin loses its softness, elasticity and natural complexion. Sunburn is a major cause for damaged collagen when genetic background of an individual also plays a vital role to decide how her skin would look like as she grows older.

Aging skin suffers most when it is exposed to sunlight. The ultraviolet rays of sunlight affect skin adversely. Exposure to harsh sun rays bring about wrinkles, uneven pigmentation and make the skin dry and thick. Skin loses its natural complexion and texture.

Hence, your skincare regimen must contain a sun protection solution all the time. You would be surprised to know that severe sunburns generally happen during childhood as at that age people rarely care about skin. Childhood sunning takes the toll later causing damage to collagen and elastin - the building blocks of skin.

Beauticians and skin specialists often suggest pursuing a regular cleansing routine to keep the skin healthy. Washing face with warm water and soft soaps could be helpful. Face wash or cleansing milks are also good. Scrubbing with coarse abrasive materials may lead to torn blood vessels, broken collagen and irritation of skin. In case your skin is suffering from broken collagen and tissues, Oil of Olay Regenerist could be an effective alternative.

Aging skin frequently gets dried. Make sure you have some sort of moisturizer included in your skincare regimen. One way to lock moisture in your skin is to let the skin dry itself after having a shower, instead of rubbing it. This keeps your skin wet and let water penetrate through epidermis.

Do not forget to do some research before buying your facial skin care products. Your facial products should be suitable for your skin type. Consult a beautician or dermatologist to know what you exactly need to appease the needs of your skin. Finally you can buy your facial skin care products from online drugstore at much lower rate than the printed price.

Information on Eczema - Dealing With Child's Eczema

JS: There's no harm in eliminating wheat for a month or so to see if you notice any difference. Don't give her any wheat and any dairy, and introduce the raw foods and see what happens. Keep a note because different foods have different effects on different people. And get her to eat only organic, fresh fruit for breakfast, and for lunch or dinner, ensure that she's eating half her meals raw.

S: For lunch, we just give her rice and sometimes some mashed vegetable like spinach, broccoli and--

JS: Excellent. Is it steamed or cooked vegetables?

S: It's boiled.

JS: This is what I want you to do: Next time you're going to give her some vegetables, steam half of it and give her the rest raw. Mix it up so she doesn't know the difference. And then over time, give it to her all raw, the vegetables.

S: That's fine. Thanks a lot.

JS: Thank you. Anybody else has any more questions?

K: Yes, Janet. Janet, I'm from South Africa. Tell me what you have to say about allergies, because that's what's my child's been diagnosed.

JS: Yes, it's because her immune system is very weak. And what we need to do is strengthen her immune system, get rid of all the toxins in her body and strengthen her immune system. And if you follow the things I've said earlier, that will help her to strengthen her immune system. Once you have a strong immune system, it will eliminate almost 99 percent of all diseases from your body. It's because your body is weak and it's overwhelmed with toxins, so it can't do its work. If she has a powerful immune system, she will not have any allergies, and she will not suffer from eczema.

K: Could it be also a psychological problem originally?

JS: Yes. The way you feel and the way you think does affect your body because it creates chemicals in your system. If you're constantly worried, constantly stressed, you're creating certain chemicals which are overwhelming your body.

Can't raise your arms when you need to? Dark underarms can lower self esteem and cause embarrassing situations. Why suffer? Here's our best underarm whitener secrets so you can wear that sleeveless top or play sports confidently.

But first, what causes dark underarms?

Here are the main culprits: Constant rubbing against tight clothing, surrounding skin, negative reactions to deodorants, improper washing, shaving, dead skin buildup, intake of androgen-based contraceptives, dark hair follicles, being overweight, or genetics.

A word of caution.

If you have hyperpigmentation on the underarms and around the base of your neck, you may be suffering from type II diabetes. Please go get your blood sugar checked.

So what underarm whitener works best?

For that stubborn underarm stain, here are possible remedies:

Gently scrub once a week with St. Ives Apricot Scrub to remove accumulated dead skin buildup, deodorant, sweat and other impurities that may contribute to dark armpits.

Gently rub lemon slices on your armpits. This can be drying to the skin so you will need to moisturize with vitamin E oil or your favorite lotion at bedtime.

Mix equal amounts of lime and cucumber juices plus a pinch of turmeric powder. Leave on armpits for 20 minutes then rinse.

Mix equal amounts of gram flour, sandalwood powder, lime, and milk plus a pinch of turmeric powder. Leave on skin for 20 minutes then rinse.

Mix equal amounts of gram flour, yogurt and milk. Leave on skin for 20 minutes then rinse.

Mix equal amounts of sandalwood powder and rose water. Leave on skin and when it dries up, rinse well.

How do you avoid dark underarms?

Waxing, not shaving, helps if you have particularly thick hair follicles, which create the shadowy effect on underarms.

The Foundation Of Proper Facial Skin Care

Everyone needs proper facial skin care, irregardless of if it is the person with the perfect skin or the person with acne-prone skin; the person with blotchy skin tendencies or the person with oily skin. Good facial skin care is essential by all for beautiful healthy looking skin, and even the person with the perfect skin type has to maintain a proper and careful facial skin care regimen in order to maintain that perfect skin. Regardless of the type of skin that you may have however, all good facial skin care regimens follow the three basic mantras of daily skin care: cleanse, tone, and moisturize.

How you do each of these on the other hand is dependent on the type of skin that you have. Cleansing is always the first step of every skin care regimen. It is the step that removes the dirt, the grit and the excess oil from the surface of the skin. It is also vital for the removal of other pollutants, such as makeup, which could clog the pores of the skin and lead to the greater incidence of breakouts. For makeup removal, it is often advised to use a makeup remover specific to your skin type before proceeding to cleanse the face. This is because makeup removers are designed to remove makeup as thoroughly as possible – something that you may not find sufficient with just a cleanser. For facial cleansing, you should never use regular body soap.

Regular body soap is way too harsh for the face, irregardless of the type of skin that you may have. For oily skins, you must choose a cleanser that is specifically oil-based – these get rid of the excess oils on the face nore effectively. For dry skins, stay away from cleansers which may contain fragrance or may be colored – these could just as easily irritate the dry skin which is often prone to sensitization.

Toning is a step in facial skin care that many people often skip, but it is one that would benefit the numbers. Toning effectively removes any excess chemicals or impurities that may have escaped your cleansing routine. These include any traces of extra oil, dirt or makeup. Toning also serves to close the pores so that they do not readily become clogged again by dirt, oil or makeup. Persons with dry skin should be aware however to stay away from the alcohol-based toners or astringents – these would tend to dry the skin even further.

Moisturizing is the final step of a good facial skin care routine. It is most critical for replenishing the moisture content of the dry skin, but even the person with oily skin can benefit from the hydration benefits of proper moisturization (much unlike the popular concept of most persons who think that the oily skin does not need the benefits moisturization).

5 Steps to Beautiful Your Skin

Nature and life provide many extremes that directly affect the condition and aging of our skin. Everyday we are battered by the elements and after time, it begins to show.

Most of us take little steps here and there to care for our skin while some do nothing at all.

The condition and appearance of our skin can, and usually does, have an influence on the way we feel about ourselves in general: Self-Esteem. I know people, especially women, who hide a majority of their skin for many different reasons. All the while they dream of being able to wear a bikini to the beach or to be able to feel good about putting on a sexy outfit for their mate.

1) Wear Sunscreen:
Over long periods of exposure, the sun can have some very negative effects. Do not be fooled by a cloudy day! UV rays still make it through.

2) Wash daily:
I prefer facial soaps that are specific to exfoliation ( removing dead skin cells ) and a wash cloth or bathing sponge that is a bit on the rough side.

3) Moisturize:
Cold weather, wind and sunlight are just a couple of the things that can dry your skin. Have you ever seen someone with a great tan and spots of gray to go with it? Not so attractive!

4) Stress management:
Learning to not "stress-out" about the little things in life can have awesome long-term effects on the appearance of your skin. On the other hand, I'm sure we all know at least one person who lives on stress ( and looks like it, too ).

5) Smile!
Look, you may say that smiling eventually develops "smile wrinkles" or "crows feet" but I much prefer those to the stress wrinkles. A smile not only affects those who see it, but has a very interesting and positive power inside yourself.

Best Uses Of The Clarisonic Skin Care System

Oprah Winfrey says, "It's a miracle massage for your face." The world's leading dermatologists and cosmetic surgeons utilize the Clarisonic Skin Care System in their pre-treatment cleansing procedures. They recommend gentle cleansing with the face brush for at least two minutes twice a day.

The Clarisonic Skin Care System has a replaceable motorized brush that oscillates at 300 times per second. The micro brushes and sonic frequency gently clean your skin and cleanse your pores, removing 70% more dirt and make up than washing alone. Cleansing with the face brush should be done prior to applying moisturizers, creams or other skin care product. These products work better when your skin is clean.

You should use the face brush in problem areas where you have oily buildup, dry skin or blemishes. You should not use the brush if you have skin allergies, a bad sunburn, had a recent chemical peel, had a recent facial cosmetic procedure or skin infections. In addition, you should not share the same brush head with others. Skin disorders can be transmitted this way.

The system should be used with a gentle, non-acidic cleanser to really clean away the dirt and oil. Apply the cleanser to your skin, then wet the face brush with warm water. Start cleaning your forehead using small circular motions. Then move to your nose, your chin and each cheek, spending about 20 seconds cleansing each area.

Be sure to hold the brush flat against your face while cleansing. If you hold it at an angle, you will spray mist from the brush all over yourself. When you are finished using the face brush, dry the bristles on a fresh towel so the brush will be ready to use the next time you need it.

Dry Skin Rash - Fast Cleansing Idea

If you are looking for a quick and easy method to cleanse your colon then you should consider a colonic irrigation session. A colonic will dramatically help heal your eczema skin.

Colonic irrigation or colonic hydrotherapy is usually done in the comfort of a discrete and private clinic. The purpose of the procedure is to remove all waste and toxic material from your bowel or large intestine. Eczema is made worse because of the toxins in your system. The procedure helps remove faeces and waste matter and helps to identify worms and/or parasites living in your gut.

A typical consultation involves you chatting with the therapist to answer any health queries and a quick rectal examination will take place. Then, its time to relax and go through the colonic procedure.

The procedure is then commenced by you lying on your side on a bed or table. The therapist will then insert a tube into your rectum to allow warm water to pass into your bowel. This water circulates and encourages the dislodgement of waste, acid and toxins to pass out of your body through the tube.

Most people say they feel a slight pressure in the abdominal region, together with a sensation of 'butterflies'. Everything is watertight so no noxious smells can escape into the treatment room. Your therapist will introduce specific massage techniques on your abdominal area to stimulate the release of unwanted matter. You will probably find this deeply relaxing.

When the treatment is complete your therapist will use a high potency, pro-biotic wash to replenish the positive bowel flora

The procedure lasts just under an hour and you are able to return to your normal routine immediately. The cost of the procedure can vary from clinic to clinic and location. This is one of the quickest methods of removing toxins and waste from the bowel. If you suffer with eczema you should serious consider this. You will see and feel an immediate transformation, lose weight and feel light.

What's in Your Skin Care Cream?

The skin care industry has the public convinced that their products will bring you a glowing complexion, reduce wrinkles and reduce discoloration. However, the cosmetic industry is not regulated and so long as they list the ingredients on the bottle as required by the FDA they can make all the claims they like. Additionally, many skin care companies use the term "Natural" when in reality many products contain less than 1% of a natural ingredient such as aloe Vera, or other essential oils.

In reality many cosmetics and baby products contain harmful ingredients which are detrimental to your health or your babies. The United Nations Environmental Program estimates that approximately 70,000 chemicals are in common use across the world with 1,000 new chemicals being introduced every year. Of all the chemicals used in cosmetics, the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health has reported that nearly 900 are toxic - although other groups attack that figure as being far too conservative.

Below are a few guidelines when selecting a skin care product.

Talc is commonly used to dry, freshen and deodorize the skin. It is a mineral consisting of hydrated magnesium silicate. Research has suggested that women who use talcum powder for personal hygiene between their legs are more likely to get ovarian cancer. It is thought that talc may travel up into the vagina, through the cervix into the womb, along the fallopian tubes, to the ovaries, causing irritation and inflammation, resulting in cancerous changes. Additionally, inhalation of talc may irritate the respiratory system.

Triclosan is an antimicrobial chemical found in hand washes, toothpastes and household products; it may kill 'friendly bacteria' which help with digestion and protect the body from more serious infection. There is cause for concern that the overuse of anti-bacterial products inhibits the normal process of the immune system to ward off germs.

Phthalates is used to make plastics flexible, they are found in shampoos, moisturizers, nail polishes and hair sprays. Animal studies have suggested links with testicular abnormalities in male offspring exposed to these chemicals in the womb. Phthalates like all chemical processed ingredients in cosmetics are absorbed through the skin or inhaled.

Sodium lauryl sulphate was originally used as an industrial degreasing; it is widely used in shampoos, bubble baths and other washing products to product foam. This chemical can irritate eyes, skin and mouth.

Aluminium salts (eg: aluminium chlorohydrate) is used in antiperspirants and deodorants, they dissolve onto the skin to create a coating over sweat glands and so reduce the amount of sweat that is released. There have been concerns that this chemical may be related to breast cancer.

Parabens (eg: methylparaben (E218), ethylparaben (E214)) are used as preservatives in cosmetics, food and household products, they may mimic the female hormone, estrogen. Concerns focus on a possible link to breast cancer, when used in deodorants.

There is a growing list of synthetic ingredients manufacturers are adding to their products every day which are or will be detrimental to your health sometime in the future. Therefore, when purchase your next cosmetic or baby products read the label carefully. Select natural products made from botanicals and essential oils for the safest skin care products.
